Hi.  Welcome to my blog.  I’m south Texas native (it’s humid and hot) that’s finally back home in Colorado.  I went to school here and I can’t imagine living without the mountains again.  I lived in Michigan for a few years and while fun and a great learning experience it was too cold, humid and flat.  I’ve changed a lot over the past few years.  Here are some of the things that I’ve done over the past couple of years:

• Started learning how to dance: Swing, West Coast Swing (still very much a beginner), Salsa, Merengue, Waltz, Tango, Cha-cha
• Started fly-fishing
• Weight-Lifting (I’ve been lifting for almost two years now)
• I’m married to a wonderful woman
• Finally learned how to garden
• Camping
• Learned how to swim

In addition to these new hobbies I like keeping up to date on current events.  Though I do admit that I absolutely loathe the media’s coverage of current events.  So I get most of my news from blogs and npr.  I’m interested in politics.  I’m a lefty.  I made the realization quite recently that while I have strong anarchist tendencies I’m more of a social democrat.  It’s all about as making the cage bigger not getting rid of it, as Chomsky said.

I love my computers.  I have three machines (a gaming rig with Windows, a laptop that runs Linux and Windows and a media system running Mythbuntu).  I recently got rid of a couple of older mac systems. If only they weren’t so expensive.

I’m a foodie and have more cookbooks than anyone should be allowed to have.  I’m always up to trying new foods and recipes.  I enjoy baking and have started to pick that up again.

I enjoy photography.  You can see some of my stuff via my flickr account that’s attatched to this blog.  Night and low light photography, flowers, macros and panoramas all catch my fancy.
